Dear Parents,

 

Will it snow or not – that is the question?  We are coming to that time of year when the snow falls fast and furious and the frost and ice sparkles dangerously in and in the vicinity of the school grounds.

 

School closures will be kept to a minimum, but the safety of the Pupils, Parents and Staff is a priority.  Judgements for closures are made as early as possible so I hope you bear with us. 

 

School closures will be announced via, Radio Cumbria, Bay Radio, Chapel Street Infants and Nursery Facebook page, and school website, www.chapelstreet.cumbria.sch.uk  (Special announcements).

 

In the event of school opening please ensure that you keep to the cleared paths and not walk on any snow (even though I know it’s very tempting) as it compacts and makes it dangerous.  Appropriate footwear ie, wellies or boots should be worn together with warm outer clothing, hats, scarves and gloves.
