Dear Parents,
Have a happy Spring term break and many thanks for your support this half term.
The children looked absolutely wonderful today in their colourful costumes and fantastic creative hats.
The following half term will be very busy starting with Healthy Eating Week June 2nd to 6th followed by our designated History focus week June 9th to 13th.
I apologise for the short notice but we have been given the opportunity to have a hot meal delivered by Dowdales on Tuesday 3rd June (a trial for hot dinners September 2014). The cost per child will be £2.30.
The choice will be lasagne or a tomato pasta with chocolate fudge cake for dessert,
Please fill in the slip below should you wish your child to have a hot lunch. THIS MUST BE RETURNED WITH THE MONEY ON MONDAY 2ND JUNE.
Our designated History Focus week is starting June 29th to 13th. We will be exploring the years 1914-1918, The First World War. This will naturally be studied sensitively and age specific. We have a visiting theatre production on Wednesday 11th June.
We would also like to invite grandparents, great-grandparents, to a Vintage Tea afternoon on Friday 13th June. Great-grandparents who may have had parents living during WW1, may wish to share their family experiences of the period with some of the pupils. We hope to have the log books, admission registers of
Lastly I have been asked to see if you and your child would like to make a scarecrow (any size) to be placed in Dalton St. Mary’s Church grounds the weekend of June 14th (Carnival
Day). This could be a fun, family or community challenge over the half term. The Vicar hopes the more the merrier!
Have a happy holiday and I hope the sun shines,
Many thanks.
