5th June, 2014
Dear Parents,
To mark the start of the Centenary of WW1, I would like to invite yourself and family members for tea and cake/scone on Friday 13th June at 1.30pm. Tickets available at £1.50.
The pupils will sing songs of the period and hopefully there will be an exhibition of artefacts of the day, 1914-1918, including the school log books (on loan from the archive).
Should any members of the community have any objects of interest, 1914-1918, if they would like to loan them to school for the exhibition, we would be grateful. These can be brought to school anytime during the week.
We will also have a raffle, tombola (donations as soon as possible please) and vintage cake stall (cakes etc to be brought on Friday 13th June).
We hope the children will come dressed as WW1 children on Friday 13th June. Please do not go to any expense, the girls could wear their summer dress with an apron over, and the boys pants or shorts and a shirt. If you would like tickets please return the slip below as soon as possible so we can organise the catering.
Yours sincerely,
Miss Helen R. Watt
