Dear Parents,
On a recent inspection of our School Registers it was found that our attendance has fallen and that punctuality of some pupils is poor.
- School starts at 8.55am and finishes at 3.00pm unless otherwise stated.
- Registration is completed immediately, and pupils who are late must enter school via the office door. The number of minutes late has to be recorded by school.
- Lessons start promptly after registration. Children not in the classroom at the start of the day miss out on valuable teaching time and also disrupt that of others.
- Holidays in school time are not authorised, as directed by Dfe and Cumbria Local Authority, unless there are exceptional circumstances.
- Parents should contact school by phone or email as soon as possible in the event of their child’s absence from school.
- In the event of a problem picking your child up from school promptly at 3.00pm please also ring the office as soon as possible.
I apologise to those families who always get their children to school on time and who have good attendance, but on behalf of the school I feel it is important to clarify policy.
Many thanks for your support in this matter.
Yours sincerely,
Mrs. Angela Walton
Headteacher
