6th June, 2016
Dear Parents,
Welcome back to the final half term of this academic year. As the weather is now so warm please ensure your children have had sun scream applied before they come to school and send in a sun hat. Can I remind you that trainers are not part of the school uniform and so should not be worn in School. Sensible shoes or sandals only please.
It is a very busy time in School but we will try to give you as much advance notice of events as possible.
Tomorrow, Tuesday the 7th of June, the children will be making crowns and having a themed party lunch to celebrate the Queen’s birthday.
Film Night is on Wednesday this week the 8th of June from 3.00pm to 5.00pm, please return slip and remittance if you have not already done so.
The next fundraising meeting is at 5pm on Wednesday 8th June to help with organising and ideas for the Summer Fayre suggested by Parents and finalise arrangements for the Fashion Show. Everyone welcome.
The Choir are going to sing for the Thursday Club at the Methodist Chapel on Thursday of this week the 9th of June leaving school at 2pm and returning for 3pm. If you are able to help walk the children there and back, please let us know as soon as possible.
On Monday 13th June Year 1 French and Year 2 First Aid lessons commence. Please see separate letters.
From Monday the 13th of June Year 1 and some Year 2 children will be involved in the National Phonics Screening check week.
In our bid to raise money to purchase ipads please support our Fashion Show next week on Tuesday the 14th of June. Admission is by ticket only. Tickets cost £10 each but include two glasses of fizz and entry into the draw to win a £50 voucher to spend on the night. Tickets are available from the office.
On Thursday the 16th of June, Mr. Wright will be in School to take informal photographs of any of the children who wish to have one. In the past these have been taken in the school grounds with the children peeping through the trees or climbing frame etc and have proved very popular. Please complete the permission slip below if you would like your child to be photographed, there is of no course no obligation to purchase any photos. This day will also be a non uniform day when the children may wear any clothes they wish and bring in a small donation which will go to St. Mary’s Church to help with fundraising for the Church roof repairs.
Yours sincerely
Mrs Angela Walton
Headteacher
