                                                                                                                      7th June 2013

Dear Parents,

Just a quick note to clarify arrangements for our annual History week June 10th to 14th.  Our theme this year is World War 11.  Pupils will experience, learn and dramatise some of the events and activities and how children lived during the war years.

Should you have family members who were children at this time it would be nice if your child could talk to them and relay their own personal experiences of how life as a child was between the years of 1939-45.

We have organised visitors to school to help engage the pupils and help them re-live history creatively.

Monday        -        Ludus Dance to teach the children dances of the age.

Wednesday  -        Julie Lloyd as “Elsie” (Theatre in Education)

Friday          -        To mark the end of History Week on the 14th June all the children may come to school dressed as an evacuee, an ARP Warden, a Land Army person, or a home guard etc.  Also on the Friday afternoon the children will be having a World War 11 Street party in the school hall, with food, fun and frolics, jam sandwiches etc.
