Dear Parents,
In Year One and Year Two, we are currently learning about poetry. To conclude our unit and celebrate our learning, we would like to hold a poetry recital. We would like all children to learn part, or all, of one of the following poems to recite for their classmates on Thursday 9th November. Please do not worry about learning all of the poem, a couple of lines would be fantastic! If your child does not want to perform in front of their friends, they can recite their poem to their teachers instead. This is a National Curriculum requirement and will also form part of an audition for South Cumbria Music Festival. If your child is selected to take part in the festival, they will perform a chosen poem on stage at The Coronation Hall in Ulverston in March. If you have any questions about this, please see your child’s teacher.
