                                                                                                5th July 2017

Dear Parents,

In the summer holidays, we are having major rewiring, roof works and a new fire alarm system fitted which will take a full six weeks.  The electricians, scaffolders and roofers will be starting work early morning on Friday the 21st of July by setting up and removing the majority of the ceilings throughout school.

Obviously, this is a big job and every room will need emptying and the contents storing in storage containers in the playgrounds.  We are really excited that this work is going ahead as it will be a big improvement for the School in September.

Unfortunately, from a health and safety point of view we cannot prepare the school and maintain an acceptable level of safety and education.  This means that the decision has been made to close school early for the summer break at 3pm on Tuesday the 18th of July in order to give the Staff time to pack up and empty over three quarters of the School premises.  This is obviously a huge task and if any parents are able to help with this it would be very much appreciated.  Unfortunately, we cannot have children on the premises for the health and safety reasons above.

We apologise for the short notice and for any inconvenience this will cause but we have been awaiting permission from County.  We cannot safely remove all the furniture and equipment with the children present.  Thank you for your support in this matter.

Yours sincerely

Mr. Alan Steel

Chair of Governors
