Dear Parents,

 

Thank you to everyone who supported our Fashion Show on Friday evening.  It was a great

success and raised £753.25.

 

School closes at 3pm this Friday 17^th of February for the half term break.  After school

Club is open till 5pm as usual.

 

School re-opens on Monday 27^th February for, breakfast club at 7.45am, Nursery at 8.45am and main school at 8.55am.

 

On Thursday 2^nd March it is World Book Day.  Each class will be basing their learning around a different Julia Donaldson book

.

Nursery       -        Superworm

Reception    -        Zog

Year 1          -        The Princess and the Wizard

Year 2         -        What the ladybird heard.

 

If you wish, your child may come dressed as a character from this book.

 

We are collecting textiles for recycling which will be collected on Tuesday the 28^th of February.  The company will take the following –

 

   They accept ‘good quality’ items for re-use:

• Men’s, Ladies and Children’s clothing
• Paired shoes (tied together or elastic band around)
• Handbags
• Hats
• Bags
• Scarves and ties
• Jewellery
• Lingerie
• Socks
• Belts
• Soft toys
• Household linen
• Curtains
• Towels
• Bedding (bed sheets, pillow cases and duvet covers)

They do not accept:

• Duvets and blankets
• Pillows and cushions
• Carpets, rugs and mats (including bath, shower and toilet mats)
• Soiled, painted, ripped or wet clothing
• School uniforms with and without logo
• Corporate clothing and workwear

Can I give you an early update about the next academic year.  In September School will restart on Wednesday the 6^th of September and finish for Christmas on Tuesday the 19^th of December.  This is slightly different to the Cumbria advertised dates, but gives the same number of days in the term and may enable parents to book a slightly cheaper holiday at the end of the summer.
